The Café Scientifique  groups around the UK  (and a few overseas) are places where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology. Meetings take place in cafes, bars, restaurants and even theatres, but always outside a traditional academic context.

Café Scientifique Romsey was set up by enthusiastic locals in
2019 and first met in January 2020 with meetings at the Royal British Legion (RBL), Love Lane, Romsey, SO51 8DE. (Free evening parking nearby).

We completed our 2022 programme with an excellent  discussion on November 24th covering three topics

"The anatomy of the 2022 heatwave" and updates on "Batteries and Electric Cars"  and "Deep sea mining for minerals".

There was an almost full house of 65 attendees.

The recordings of the original presentations relating to these topics can be seen on our YouTube Channel and the links are on the "Previous Talks" page of the website.

 

 Our Cafés will resume on Thursday January  26th when  the topic will be "Power from Offshore Wind".

This will mark the 3rd anniversary of CafSciRom.
