The Café Scientifique groups around the UK (and a few overseas) are places where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology. Meetings take place in cafes, bars, restaurants and even theatres, but always outside a traditional academic context.
Café Scientifique Romsey was set up by enthusiastic locals in
2019 and first met in January 2020 with meetings at the Royal British Legion (RBL), Love Lane, Romsey, SO51 8DE. (Free evening parking nearby).
Booking for our next meeting will open on 6 April
for our next event on Thursday 27 April when the topic will be
"AI101: A whistlestop tour of artificial intelligence history, applications and philosophical concerns"
delivered by Dr James Ravenscroft of Filament AI, based in Chilworth
19.30 at the Royal British Legion, Love Lane, Romsey. Free parking is available nearby in the Alma Road carpark.
A charge of £5 per head, (students free), will be made at the door to cover the cost of room hire and refreshments (tea/coffee/cake)
Thank you for your continuing and enthusiastic support.
